Job Posting – Assistant Researcher

What World Strategies is looking for a dynamic, summer part-time assistant to help undertake research for an exciting new print and online magazine.
We are launching a digital magazine and database for the global advocacy industry covering news, industry changes, analysis and interviews with leading industry figures. To help deliver this exciting new project, What World Strategies seeks a summer part-time assistant interested in helping launch this magazine.

Responsibilities:
• Researching and compiling reports key development issues
• Undertaking surveys of the global advocacy industry to map activities and policy focus
• Supporting the curating and drafting of content for the magazine
• Data input for an advocacy database.
• Proofreading and editing articles
• Track stories of interest on the web and social media

Requirements:
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and writing skills
• Experience of writing for magazines, journals, websites.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment
• Self-motivated, responsible, and enthusiastic
• Ideally, research experience as well as creating and undertaking surveys.
• Ideally, have some working knowledge of technology, computing and social media
• Ideally, have some experience with Adobe software, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop

Details:

Start date: end July 2014
Finish date: Mid-September
Hours: 2 or 3 days per week 8 hours per day
Location: Our offices in downtown Guelph
